Day 21: Rest Day, Bend, OR

Journal for 2016-10-02 | Published on 2016-10-04 19:56:09

Met up today with Pam's friend Erin and her boyfriend (afraid to misspell his name) for brunch. We had a good time catching up and enjoyed some great breakfast food.

Then we walked over to REI to pick up a few more things. After looking at the temperatures forecast Matt wanted something to keep his legs warmer while riding. Then a trip over to Safeway to stock up on food. This next section has 93 miles before another store, so we stocked up.

A little television and a trip to the Jacuzzi later we are all rested up and ready to go tomorrow.

Also the next section has an alternate to Windigo pass which would take us through Crescent Lake, but everything we have read says it is a very rough ride and does not offer much scenery, so we will head over to Chemult and then Crescent Lake.

Sunrise from our window this morning.

Guess who, ME AGAIN! Good to hear from you, and I love all of your photos. I was wondering if you had crossed paths with Kevin and Ellie, and here he wrote to you. Good luck on the next long stretch. Stay safe~

Thanks, Lora! We're getting good at preparing for long stretches between services. It's fun being so self sufficient!

Hi! Happy to hear all the details of your ride. I love the Bend area, so pretty! Be safe.

I had never been to Bend, and was pleasantly surprised! Super nice area (we only made the Old Mill District, which I guess is the outskirts? Not downtown, but I'm sure that's nice too.) I wouldn't mind coming back for a longer visit!
